The Chair’s specific objectives are to:

1. Assess the root causes and drivers of forced displacement, including gender and social differences.
2. Examine livelihood opportunities of displaced populations, and how they intersect with age, skills, and gender.
3. Investigate access to economic, health, and education services, especially for women and youth.
4. Evaluate governance systems and legal frameworks that promote or restrict services to displaced populations.
5. Contribute to a regional approach to forced displacement, recommending best practices within ECOWAS.
6. Mentor early-career scholars and build capacity among stakeholders to respond effectively to displacement challenges.
